Greetings! April is drawing to a close and the pleasant weather continues.
This Saturday, May 3 (all times local), the first of the American classic triple crown races, the 151st Kentucky Derby, will be held.

The Kentucky Derby is a prestigious sporting event that takes place in the USA. For the first time, Cygames is sponsoring the event this year, in particular, a race on Kentucky Oaks day (Friday, May 2) called the “Unbridled Sidney Stakes Presented by Cygames.” There will also be a play booth available on Friday, May 2 and Saturday, May 3 where attendees can try out the English version of the game Umamusume: Pretty Derby, Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond, and other popular titles.

It is an honor to have this wonderful opportunity to be involved with the historical, world-renowned Kentucky Derby. Not only do we hope to introduce Cygames to visitors who’ve come from all around the world, but we also hope they will get direct, hands-on experience with our content and get to know our company’s IPs. To anyone coming to the event, please check out the Cygames booth while you’re there!

In addition, Kentucky Horse Park, also in the state of Kentucky, is currently holding an exhibition called “Uma no Kokoro” where Umamusume: Pretty Derby is featured in the segment on Japan’s horse racing culture!
The Kentucky Horse Park’s International Museum of the Horse is in Lexington, only a little over an hour drive away from the Kentucky Derby, so be sure to stop by!

What is the Kentucky Derby?

The Kentucky Derby® is an American horse race run by three-year-old thoroughbreds, and the first of three events comprising the Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing. The event boasts a storied history dating back to 1875 and is the most watched horse racing event in North America, earning it the reputation of being “The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports®.” Additionally, Derby Week, held in the same week as the Kentucky Derby, features the prestigious Kentucky Oaks, a race for three-year-old fillies that has run for 150 years, among other races and events.
