Why did Cygames decide to participate in an event like Thailand Game Show?
Our primary goal was to increase brand awareness within the Thai market and promote our titles. Japanese games are already quite beloved in Thailand, and the country boasts a vibrant community of passionate gamers. We wanted to offer them new ways to experience our titles and introduce those unfamiliar with our games an exciting opportunity to try them out.
What were some specific elements you made sure to include in the booth?
Our vision for the Cygames booth was to create a comprehensive celebration of the Cygames brand as a whole, rather than focusing on a single title.
We strived to make the Cygames logo highly visible throughout the entire venue. To achieve this, we opted for a bold black and white design, reflecting our corporate colors, to establish a distinct and clear Cygames presence on the show floor.
What were some of the challenges you faced during the event?
One significant challenge was that our gameplay demos were not available in Thai. To address this, we conducted training sessions for event staff to help them better understand the content of our games and created localized Thai versions of our gameplay manuals. Despite these hurdles, the effort paid off as many attendees were able to enjoy the games we showcased at our booth.
How was the overall reception from the attendees?
Even though this was our first exhibition at a Thai event, we were thrilled to see many enthusiastic fans—some even dressed in Cygames cosplay, and a number traveled from outside Thailand just to attend. Fans of Umamusume: Pretty Derby, in particular, gathered in large numbers and held impromptu photo sessions in front of our booth.
Additionally, the vibrant shopping bags we created for the event, featuring illustrations of characters from various titles, were a huge hit. It was very gratifying to see so many attendees visiting our booth, eager to get their hands on them.
